Introduction to US Vending Market Press Release

Most people eat mints and chew gum for fresh breath, but a new type of mints and
gum promises to give consumers energy.
Jerry Holmes of Paris is the first distributor of The Energiser mints and gum in
the United States.
He said it is exciting that the mints were introduced to the U.S. right here in
Henry County.
The mints and gum are in vending machines and were placed in eight to 15
locations in Henry County this week.
“I will be helping with sales across the U.S.,” said Holmes. “It’s going to go
nationwide as soon as possible.”
The company that produces the Energiser mints is located in Manitoba, Canada.
“All energy products are popular right now,” he said. “(The energy mints and gum
are) going to be the hottest thing going.”
Holmes discovered the energy mints and gum online about a month and a half ago.
He was researching food products that are safe for diabetics and gluten-free.
The Energiser mints and gum are sugar and gluten-free, have no carbohydrates and
are low calorie.
He called the company and talked to its president, Tom Semeniuk, and decided to
become the products’ first distributor in the U.S.
Two mints and two pieces of gum are packaged in each container in the vending
machines. Information on the vending machines says two mints are equal to two
cans of the leading energy drink and two pieces of gum are equal to 1.5 cans of
the leading energy drink.
Mint flavors are cinnamon and fresh mint and gum flavors are peppermint and
spearmint.
Holmes said the mints and gum should be taken when a person is tired and needs a
burst of energy. He said he usually takes it in the late afternoon to give him
energy until bedtime.
“I’ve noticed the less energy I have, the better it works. It’s totally safe.
Ours has a lot of vitamins in it,” he said.
A cup of coffee has about 100 milligrams of caffeine. The Energiser mints each
include 80 milligrams of caffeine; the gum has 55 milligrams of caffeine in each
piece.
Holmes said part of the proceeds of the Energiser mints and gum goes to the
American Diabetes Association and missing children organizations in the U.S.
Henry County Mayor Brent Greer said, “All of the product is going to be moved
out of Henry County to various places across the Southeast.”
He said he welcomes the product’s local distribution because of the potential
for employment here in the future and the improvement in sales tax revenues for
the county.
